Modifications Of Adventitious Root

(A) Storage Root -

For food storage .

A. Nodulose - It apex of adventitious swooden to form a nodule due to fod storafe eg , mango ginger  ( curuma amanda ).

B. Tuberous Root -  This adventitious root arise from every node of stem. it is singly arise and obtain irregular shape its node is developed as a running stem , eg , sweet potato (jpomea fatata).

C. Facciculated Root - It is same as tuberous root but it is present in many clusters. eg , mushroom (asparagus)

D. Moniliform Root - This root is alternatively swollen and constricted by giving a beaded appreance. eg , rose moss (portulaca)

E. Annulated Root - These are thick roots which looks as many discs arranged one above other. eg , cephalis

(B) For Mechanical Support

1. Prop Root

2. Stilt Root

3. Climbing Root

1. Prop Root -

These root arise from horizontal aerial branches of the tree. These roots grow vertically downward and penetrate the soil become thick as a shape of pillar it provides mechanical support to the spreading branches of the tree example banyan tree, natural rubber tree and peepal .

2. Still root

In some plants roots are formed from the Lava node of Lava most person of the stem and provides mechanical support to plant by fixing it in the soil example sugar cane and maze .

3. Climbing root

in some plants root are formed from nodes of stem which help the plant to climb up these plants are called climbers example pan .

(C) Other modifications

1. Assimilatory roots

These roots are have chlorophyll so in the presence of light they perform photosynthesis they form carbohydrate from CO2 and H2 in presence of light example trapa( water chestnut)

2. Parasitic roots

this route se offer parasitic plant penetrate into host plant ab To xylem and phloem and absorbs nutrition from it so they are also called a haustroil root example amarbel

3. Floating roots

These routes a helps in floating of aquatic plant

These roots become inflated and spongy to help in floating. Eg, lotus .

4. Epiphytic Root

These roots are surrounded by spongy tissues which  absorbs moisture from here these shoes are called velaman .
