 Phytochromes

Blue protein pigment occurs in flowering plants to induce flowering.

They are photosensitive and found in cytoplasm.

Phytochromes are not phyopormones.

Ambudantly occurs in shoot apex involves inphotomorphogenises or photomorphogatic responce above a light.  for example, flower formation, seed germination.

The photperiodic response occurs in both plants and animals.




Requirement of a plant for growing - 

1. Completion of vegetative phase.

2. Light - a sutaible day length photoperiod.

3. Appropriate tempreature and hormones regulation


On the basis of definite photoperiod to produe flowering, plants are
