Types Of Root 

There are two types of root -

1. Tap Root

2. Adventitious Root 

1. Tap Root -

It is originated from radicle. the main axis of tap root is called primary root. 

Branches from primaryroot are called secondary roots which further branched to form tertiory roots. 

Adventitious Root Is  Also Modified In Various Sub Roots.

Tap Root Is Also Modified Into Various Sub - Roots

2. Adventitious Root -

This root is originated from any other part of plant except radicle 

It is of three types

 a . Root which originated from base of stem eg , wheat , sugarcane , maize , onion etc.

b . Roots which develop from  nodes and internodes of stem eg , banyan tree , money plant.

c . Roots originated from leaves eg bryophyllum and pogostenum etc


Adventitious Root Is  Also Modified In Various Sub Roots.
